Description
On the left is a young peach orchard, reportedly one of the first to be planted near Turlock, California. In the field to the right cantaloupes are planted in between the rows of grapes. The region had been primarily dry land farming of grain crops. With the arrival of irrigation water the type and diversity of crops changed and increased. Verso: the man with the horse is named Nelson; Blewett; and the stamp, Turlock Land Co.Inc.
