Color slide of a pack of women cyclists completing a lap during the Women's Cycling Road Race of the 1984 Summer Olympic Games. National flags of various countries and the "Finish/Arrivee" banner can be seen above the pack of cyclists. On the left side of the photograph is a grandstand which is partially covered with a canopy. The grandstand appears to be designed for race officials and perhaps the media. On the right side is a truck that holds one end of scaffolding. This scaffolding travels over the racecourse and might be supporting a camera. Next to the truck stand several people who are watching the riders and clapping; the spectators appear to be officials since they are dressed in all white. In the right foreground of the picture is a motorcyclist. The pavement shows painted lane stripings and a turn arrow that are typical on city streets. The cyclists are on O'Neill Road in Mission Viejo, California. O'Neill Road was later named Olympiad Road in commemoration of this Olympic event. At the top of the slide is a label with "84-007, Frame 004" typed on it. At the bottom of the slide is written "camjl 221" in pencil and, in typescript, "8, Jul 84H14."
