Description: Interior of the Orange Ice & Cold Storage Company plant, located in an orange grove in Orange, California, 1923. Image shows view of Vilter Manufacturing Company engine and refrigeration compressor (made in 1920 in Milwaukee, WI.) The plant was founded by Clifford Short in 1923, who also operated a creamery at the same location at the corner of North Cypress Street and East Walnut Avenue, Orange, California.
