Description
Orange City Park wading pool, Orange, California, 1950. Image shows view looking west with several children playing in wading pool with the entrance to the Orange Plunge (opened 1937) visible in background. Original Plaza Park fountain, visible at far right, was first installed in Plaza Park in 1887 and later replaced in 1937 by a tile and electric fountain constructed by the Westinghouse Electric Company. In 1940 the original fountain was moved to the wading pool next to the Plunge in Orange City Park (renamed Hart Park in 1964), and the birds removed. It was later removed from Hart Park and placed in storage, restored in 1981and installed in front of City Council Chambers in Orange. Photographic print B&w 18 x 27.5 cm.
