Description: Orange Harvest Festival Parade float with Harvest Queen and her court, Orange, California, September 13, 1947. Image shows view of the the float with the queen, Carrel Benson, sitting at the back of the float with a radiating orange section behind her and two large artificial oranges on each side. In front of her are Joyce Steele on the left, Esther Burrell on the right, and two unidentified young girls between them. Barbara Anderson is in a dark dress in the center, and identified, left to right, at the front are Janet Curl and Barbara Danker. The float is pulled by a pickup truck from Mansur Motors [not visible in this photograph; see P1665] and the view is north with Plaza Park behind them, visible at right. The float has signage on the side reading "CHAMBER OF COMMERCE / ORANGE HARVEST FESTIVAL." [See also P1665]
