The room has a high ceiling and is furnished with a sofa, stuffed chair, coffee table and two floor lamps. Two walls of the room are covered with book shelves; there are books and other decorative items filling the shelves. There is a fireplace on the wall across from the sofa; it is a light colored brick and has a raised hearth and an arched opening. In the foreground of the photograph is a dinette set with a round glass table and bamboo-style, padded chairs. On the back of the photograph is stamped "H. Lee Hooper Photographer, 9900 Lakewood, Downey, Calif., Phone TOpaz 9-8272." The numbers "1892-5" are handwritten on the back. The photograph is #11 on a sheet of nine proofs.
