Description
This Mountain Play performance of Kismet was adapted for the Mountain Theater by Dan Totheroh. According to Totheroh, the costumes and sets were some of the most elaborate that had ever been used in a Mountain Play. Choreography was orchestrated by dancer Margot Jones. The Mountain Play Association began its annual production in an outdoor amphitheater on top of Mount Tamalpais, Marin County, in 1913. Shows run for several weekends, beginning each May. This poster is from a collection of scrapbooks, deposited with the California Room in 1975, by Mountain Play Association Director, Marion Hayes Cain.
