Description
Orange Fire Department, Fire Engine No. 1, Orange, California, ca. 1912. Image shows side view of the 1912 Seagraves fire truck, the city's first motorized fire truck, acquired by the city in 1912. It is parked in front of the fire house, built in 1910 at 122 South Olive near Chapman Avenue, which served as the city's fire station until 1935 when a new station was constructed a few doors south. The Seagraves was retired from use in 1921 and sold to San Marcos. It was later destroyed in a fire.
