Aerial view of Hewes Park, ranch and orchards, in El Modena, California. Image shows view from approximately 1,000 feet of the park, located at the corner of Esplanade and La Veta Avenue, and surrounding orchards. Hewes Park was built in 1905 by David Hewes (1822-1915), capitalist, philanthropist and land developer, who hired Robert G. Fraser, developer of the Busch Gardens in Pasadena, to design the park, which became a popular destination for Orange residents through the 1940s. Photographic print B&w 12.7 x 17.7 cm.
