This six page representative issue of the "Heart Mountain General Information Bulletin" dated September 26, 1942, includes announcements such as "$100,000 War Industry to be Built Here," "Checks Will be Cashed Next Friday," "Fashion Classes to Start Monday" and "Civilians Permitted to Visit Center." The bulletin was published at the Heart Mountain Relocation Center established by the War Relocation Authority at irregular intervals to provide internees with information about camp rules (heading such as, "army provides food on ration basis," and "workers must eat in own mess halls") events ("burned down laundry to be rebuilt" and "dental clinic now open"), activities (the schedule of religious services and "women's glee club meets tonight") and general information ("what to do in case of rattle snake bite"). The final series of October 20, 1942 announces, "first printed newspaper to appear Saturday." [Library has Ser. 13-14, 16, 18-28 (Sept. 19, 1942-Oct. 20, 1942).]
