Description
In this postcard image is the display that won the $25 first prize at the first Melon Carnival in Turlock, California in 1911. The Chamber of Commerce of Denair, California created the entry. A variety of melons surround the base of the display. Very large melons are set at each corner. Visible in the foreground is one marked: ERobertson, 154 (or 164) lbs. Very tall cornstalks line the sides of the windmill. To the left of the display, a boy and two men are dwarfed by its height.
