Description
Roosevelt replies to Olson's letter of April 25 concerning American-born Japanese college and university students. He believes that "qualified American-born Japanese students will be enabled to continue their education in inland institutions." Roosevelt also writes, " I am deeply concerned that Japanese college students shall be impressed with the ability of the American people to distinguish between enemy aliens and staunch supporters of the American system who happen to have Japanese ancestry."
