Description
Bungalow located at 145 North Harwood Street, Orange, California, 2003. Image shows front view of single-story bungalow, originally designed and constructed for Walter J. and Ruth Leichtfuss in 1919 by the Orange Contracting and Milling Company. Mr. Leichtfuss was co-owner of the Orange Tin Shop, a major business in Orange for many years. The home has ornamental lap siding and a multi-gable, shallow-pitched roof. Two front-facing gables distinguish the front facade. The entry has its own small overhang and is comprised of the original door with diamond pane glass plate. A photograph of the home was featured on page 28 of "Beautiful Orange Homes," a promotional brochure from the early 1920s that featured examples of design and construction by Orange Contracting & Milling Company. House was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
