Description
Photograph of Inglewood Land Co. Hotel located on Queen St. and La Brea Ave. circa 1880's. Built in late 1887 the hotel covered a square block from Market St. to Commercial St. (now La Brea Ave.) and Queen St. to Pimiento St. (now Manchester Blvd.). The hotel faced Queen St. and was set back 100 ft. It was surrounded by a 10-foot-wide porch. The interior of the hotel included a huge foyer with a majestic staircase leading to 31 rooms on the 2nd floor. Hot & cold running water, gas lights, steam heat and electric call bells were installed. It was never furnished or operated as a hotel and was torn down in 1912.
