Description
Hopi Indian Home, Mishongnovi, Arizona. How would you like to live in a home like this? These homes are built in a great rock wall and plastered with mud. These homes are called pueblos. Hopi Indians live in them. What others kinds of Indian homes do you know? What differences do you see? Why do some Indians build houses of mud and some build houses of skins? What difference does the place where Indians build their homes make in the kinds of homes they build. In how many different ways can these Indians get in and out of their homes? How do you think the little child gets down from his home? When you look at the little child, what do you know about the weather? The bags hanging on the outside of the houses have food in them. Why did they have to be hung there? Do you see something else in the picture that the Indians will use for food some day? What do you think they will do with the large feathers?
