Description
May Festival, Orange, California, 1947. Image shows group of men and women dressed in various costumes standing near Mobile Oil gas station. Identified in the group are Walter Weimer, Carl A. Opp and wife Estella Opp (with parasol), Jack Van Beek (in white hat dressed as a woman), Dick Hawkins and wife Eva Hawkins. The May Festival, which began in 1933 and also included the May Day Parade, continued to be held until 1991.
