Description
Mission Barona is one of five missions tended by the Verona Fathers, known as Sons of the Sacred Heart, which reside on reservations in Southern California. Mission Barona is named for Father Josef Barona who was a priest at Mission San Diego de Alcala from 1798 to 1810. The Native Americans who currently live on the Barona Reservation are the descendents of Native Americans Barona baptized and married who were moved to the Barona reservation in the 1930s.This shrine to the Virgin Mary list located at Mission Barona whose church is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
