Description
A view of Mill Valley, California, circa 1910, as one might have seen when traveling by train through Marin County. The edge of downtown Mill Valley can be seen in the lower right corner. Near the center of the photo, just below the ridge line and to the right of the water tank, is a white house. This house was named Wyndeknoll, home to the Losh Family, who were active in Mill Valley's early 20th century history. Frank Adam Losh was the co-founder of the Mill Valley Bank and active in the real estate business; Mae Gregg Losh was the President of the Mill Valley Art and Garden Club from 1914 -1915 and daughter of Andrew Jackson Gregg. Frank and Mae Losh raised their son, William Jackson Losh here. William was a well-known publicist from the firm Lee and Losh. The house still stands today in Mill Valley.
