Nelson, as his father, attending the funeral of the youth's mother in the Warner Brothers Seven Arts motion picture drama. Gordon Parks wrote, produced and directed the Technicolor film version of his own autobiographical novel. The drama was filmed mainly on location in Park's home town, Fort Scott, Kansas
