Handwritten title (LC): The new island near the Equator, east extreme S 43 [degrees] El, West D[e], the hummock So. 15 [degrees] El, at which time the rock bore S 33 [degrees] W 9 or 10 miles dist. Signature (LR): J. Sykes. Handwritten (LR): the rock, 63.
