Description
Teacher and students posing outside the school near a fence. "Mill Valley Cal." printed on lower left. A note accompanying the photograph, written by Carol Budds, the daughter of one of the students, Karin Lundquist Connelly, indicates that in 1989 her mother wrote the names of the students on the back of the photograph. The names on the back, listed in the order of back row, middle row, first row, are: Karin Lundquist, Gertrude Tobin, Lottie Ankers, Edith Sherman, Margaret House, Muriel Henderson, Irene McDonald, Helen Fenton. Elmer Johnson, _____ Johnson, Alan Tobin, Service (?) Ward, Jack Fian, ______ (?), Miss Abraham. Emily Van Tassels (?), Doroth Schlingman, Marian Wasser, Ruth Johnson, Sal Harrols and Oscar Agazello. The accompanying note also comments that "Elmer Johnson lived in the house on Lovell across from the old Christian Science Church that belonged to the Bennetts, Barbara Bennett Peters may still own it
it was converted to apartments many years ago. Dorothy Schlingman was one of the sisters for whom the two houses on Throckmorton across from the old Eloesser property were built. .... Scar Agazello's father operated a refreshment stand. Actually a series of them. At one time he had one at the foot of Marion. I can just barely remember one in Old Mill Park along the Cascade Drive frontage and opposite the Old Mill. This was the Summit School class of 1910 as that is the year my mother graduated from 8th grade."
