Description
Pacific Citizen newspaper, Front Page Only. Paul H. Kusuda was a young man when he and his family were incarcerated at Manzanar from their home in Los Angeles. He eventually was able to continue his college education at the University of Chicago. He went on to a career in social work in Wisconsin. Kusuda says his choice of life work was very much influenced by this time at Manzanar. Some of the items were written by Paul H. Kusuda while others were typed by him, but were written by others. As Kusuda said in 2013, “When I was in Manzanar, I typed on a portable Royal typewriter I bought when I worked as a typist for a gym instructor at the Los Angeles City College…Having lots of time, I recorded many meetings and made duplicate copies…”
