This picture book published by M. Rieder in 1905 contains images that not only portray Pasadena as it appeared in 1905 but also give an account of its early history. It includes a brief history of the city in the introduction and describes why Pasadena is the “Crown of the Valley.” Each page contains a 6x8in image and a brief description. Images show houses, hotels, streets, churches, native plants, and vistas. The images are rich in details and depict an aspect of Pasadena life in the early 1900s.
