1. Minutes dating from Club's founding in Sept. 1894 through 1914. 2. June 1894-August 1894: Club organized by 24 members who adopted and signed a Constitution (Mary Campbell elected President). 3. Sept. 1894-Aug. 1895: Proposed sewerage system and beautification of Palo Alto. 4. September 1895-August 1896: Raised money for a library, supported Suffrage Convention and proposed building a Woman's Club hall. 5. Sept. 1896-July 1897: 100 members, Raised money for and established a town Library; met with the Political Equality Club, Ca. Suffrage amendment failed. 6. Sept. 1897-August 1898: Planted trees, supported Reading Room, joined General Federation of Women's Clubs. 7. Sept. 1998-Aug. 1899: Mrs. K. K. Hutchinson elected President, 143 members. 8. Sept. 1899-May 1900: joined California Federation of Women's Clubs, proposed woman physician for Asylum for the Insane, chose Club colors of silver and cardinal. 9. Sept. 1900-May 1901: Mrs. S. A. Dyer elected President, paid $10/month towards Library, discussed question of “admitting colored women's clubs to the General Federation of Women's Clubs”, supported protection of redwoods and the meadow lark and of Community Property Rights, petitioned Andrew Carnegie to build public library in Palo Alto. 10. Sept. 1901-May 1902: Mrs. H. M. Parkinson elected President, Club turned Library over to town with 2,500 volumes. (Julia Gilbert elected to Library Board.) 11. July 1902-June 1903: Julia Gilbert elected President, completed planting of City trees, published first Yearbook, approved Juvenile Court Bill. 12. Oct. 1903-April 1904: renovate high school girl's restroom, replaced 16 dead trees, signed lease for gym for boys, Incorporation of Woman's Club of Palo Alto. 13. Sept. 1904-May 1905: Mrs. J. S. Lakin elected President, raised $573 to purchase lot for future Clubhouse, asked City to protect trees planted by Club, requested CA. Assembly to appoint women physicians to State Hospitals. 14. July 1905-May 1906: published Cookbook and History and Landmarks of Ca., purchased Clubhouse lot at Homer and Cowper for $1,500, held Susan B. Anthony Memorial, aided victims of April 18, 1906 Earthquake. 15. June 1906-May 1907: Mrs. F. A. Stuart elected President, law suit against Boy's Gym Committee, endorsed Equal Suffrage, Petitioned State for free grade school textbooks, proposed female candidate for School Trustee (Cornelia L. Place.) 16. June 1907-May 1908: Mrs. E. G. Greene elected Pres., report on operation and debt of Boy's Gym. 17. May 1908-August 1909: $620 settlement of Boy's Gym lawsuit, established Scholarship Fund for high school seniors, established PTA meetings, Club meetings to appear in local newspapers. 18. June 1909-May 1910: Mrs. E. S. Karns elected President, supported Forestry Bill, YWCA restroom project, completed $1,500 payment for Clubhouse lot. 19. Aug. 1910-April 1911: supported City Public Park, Big Basin Forest Reserve, 8 hour work day for women, public rest rooms, teacher's pensions and candidate for P.A. Board of Education 20. August 1911- May 1912: Mrs. M. A. Buchan elected Pres., Celebrated Suffrage Day when Ca. women got the vote, adopted peace resolutions, worked on P.A. Biennial Celebration, supported library lot purchase, building of public benches, building Detention House with proper feeding of prisoners, urged women to vote in P.A. bond election. 21. June 1912-May 1913: Celebrated Club's Biennial, law to abolish smoking in P.A. Mothers Pension Bill and sent aid to Arizona Suffrage Movement. 22. August 1913-May 1914: Mrs. C. C. Dingley elected President, requested female police officer in P.A., endorsed Miss Howe for County Superintendent of Schools, Club play at Varsity Theatre. 23. Oct. 1914- May 1915: Began Clubhouse Building Committee, endorsed American Peace Party, John Muir Trail, Save Tahoe Trees Campaign. 24. Description of the Clubhouse as submitted to the National Register of Historic Places Form.
