Description
Front of postcard depicts the West Point Inn on Mt. Tamalpais. The inn is decorated with American flags, and there is a crowd of people seated in front of the inn. Title transcribed from printed text on the front of the postcard, which reads, "Beautiful California. West Point Inn, Mt. Tamalpais." The back of the postcard contains a handwritten message and is addressed to a Mr. Norman H[indiscernable] at Pacific Station via San Francisco. The publisher information as listed on the back reads, "G. 12. Pacific Novelty Company, Publishers, San Francisco, Cal. Made in Germany. 68326." The postmark is dated April 2nd 1911, Oakland, Cal. The West Point Inn was built in 1904 and was a brief stop on the Mill Valley and Mt. Tamalpais Scenic Railway. The Inn still functions today, serving as a resting point for hikers.
