Description
This is the front, opened back, back, and opened front of the invitation for the 2002 Ice Cream Social hosted by the Velaslavasay Panorama Enthusiast Society on September 15, 2002, folded. This event marked the debut of the "Avian Alcove" outdoor exhibit in the gardens of the Velaslavasay Panorama. This was a "living diorama" - a painted backdrop with sculptures of birds staged with real and artificial plants along with an ambient audio playback of bird sounds. The installation was a collaboration between sisters Sara Velas and Karen Velas.
