Description
The U. S. entered World War II in December of 1941 and this is reflected in the yearbook. There is a dedication and a listing by service (Air Corps, Navy, Army, Marines, Others) to the students and staff serving in the military. Although the yearbook includes the photos of Japanese American students and staff and members of the Japanese Club, there is a note that this club was disbanded because of the 'severing of diplomatic relations' with Japan. The opening pages of the edition feature photos of students and the high schools they came from--Salinas High, Gilroy High, Watsonville High, King City High, Monterey High, and Santa Cruz High. Included in the yearbook is a color photo of the black granite panther mascot 'Oscar' in front of the college.
