Description
Part of MCFL World War I Collection. Handwritten letter, stamped envelope, and typed transcript of the letter. Cruess writes that he is in Belgium, and that they did not have much fighting as the Dutch were retreating fast and it is all over now as the Armistice is on. He writes of the gratefulness of the Belgians when they first came through there, and relief to know they will be sailing for the states soon. This is one of several letters in the collection that were transcribed likely by MCFL library staff at the time. Printed on the top of the envelope is 'American YMCA Soldiers Mail'. Letterhead is similar.
