Description
In this object radiometric measurements were made from two Kipp and Zonen pyranometers (upward and downward facing) and two Kipp and Zonen pyrgeometers (upward and downward facing) at a sub-sea level field site located near the western shoreline of the Salton Sea, California (33.169011 N, -115.855960 E and -32 m AMSL) from November 2019 through January 2023 during all-sky conditions (cloud and cloud-free, dust and dust-free) and during day and nighttime. All data before 4/1/2020 were originally logged at 1 second intervals and later converted to 1 minute averages. Currently all data are averaged over 1 minute temporal intervals. Radiometric data included are surface shortwave flux (upward and downward); surface shortwave flux (upward and downward) minute minimum, maximum, standard deviation; net instrument longwave flux (upward and downward); net instrument longwave flux (upward and downward) minute minimum, maximum, standard deviation; pyrgeometer body temperature (upward and downward facing); and the calibration coefficients for all four radiometers. These radiometric data were collected in order to obtain ground-based observations of the shortwave and longwave broadband radiative fluxes in the northwestern Sonoran Desert, near the Salton Sea. Please refer to Kuwano et al., 2024 (in review) for more details on processing and calibration.
