This digital image is a surrogate of an original photograph in the Carl L. Hubbs Papers (box 246, folder 3).
Inscription on verso: 350 lb. "sea bat" fastened on to Fritz's line and was gently coaxed into shallows where I shot it with 22 rifle. Thunder Hole, east end St. Croix.
