Ticket for world welterweight championship showdown between Thomas Hearns and Ray Charles Leonard (a.k.a., Sugar Ray Leonard), both African American boxers, held September 16, 1981 at Caesars Palace. Going into the contest, Hearns was the reigning WBA welterweight champion, and Leonard was the reigning WBC welterweight champion. It was a highly anticipated fight with a live crowd of 23,618 and a worldwide TV audience of some 300 million. Ticket is for the terrace with a face value of $200 and includes images of both contenders.
