Description
Film, Audio, Video and Digital Art Performing Arts (including Performance Art) In the 1970's, I received an Award from the National Institute of Arts and Letters. An aspect of this award was the sponsorship of a recoding to be issued on the Composers Recordings label. For this opportunity, one of the works I selected was Ping. The recording was done in the old 408 building (a former Marine Mess Hall) on the Mathews Campus of the University. The recording engineer was James Campbell. Flutist Karen Reynolds and Percussionist Paul Chihara (then a member of the UCLA Music Department) joined me as pianist-leader, and Alan Johnson, who controlled the live electronics dimension of the piece.
