Description
Humanities and Social Sciences Film, Audio, Video and Digital Art Jim Cox (w/out Sheila Cox) interview at East San Diego County campground during the summertime. The heat is too strong during the summer so Jim stays here and not at Slab City during the hottest months. Jim has interesting stories on Sheila’s health, Leonard’s mountain, Supervisor Seabolt, Niland merchants, Slab economics and legal issues during the course of these two videotape and seems to open up more on camera in Sheila’s absence. Jim swatting at fly while relating S.S.I. tales has an interesting look visually and is a counterpoint to his self-assuredness while speaking. He also comments on military pension and Sheila’s stay at Balboa Naval Hospital. UC San Diego Library, UC San Diego, La Jolla, CA 92093-0175 (https://library.ucsd.edu/dc/contact)
