Description
Jian Yi is an award winning Chinese independent filmmaker and visual artist who partnered with Wu Wenguang to launch the China Village Documentary Project and later initiated a pilot independent film project in his village. He was a visiting fellow at Yale University and has been in the forefront for promoting a sustainable food system in China and recently the U.S. This photograph was taken when Jian Yi (front seat) and wife and son (back seat) were staying with Xiaojian and me in our Dali house. I've been a friend of Jian Yi since 2000.
