Description
Shell and seed necklaces are used to decorate house interior walls and may be worn during ritual ceremonies. Woven bracelets are used primarily for house decorations rather than worn. Before independence, locals were hired by the British government to teach handicrafts such as bag weaving and sewing to the villagers. In Wintua, these were most often Presbyterian Women's Missionary Union representatives. UC San Diego Library, UC San Diego, La Jolla, CA 92093-0175 (https://library.ucsd.edu/dc/contact)
