Description
May May Miller (Ci Zhang) has written novels and directed documentary films, but she is best known for her appearance in Wu Wenguang’s path breaking independent documentary film Bumming in Beijing: The Last Dreamers (1990) which focuses on the lives of five drifting young artists in Beijing – a writer, two painters, an avant-garde theatre director, and a photographer – who refuse to conform to mainstream society. She is the mother of Chantel Miller, author of the New York Times best seller Know My Name: A Memoir (2019).
