Description
Robert Gordon Sproul was the 11th president of the University of California from 1930-1958. Thomas Wayland Vaughan was an eminent geologist and oceanographer and also served for twelve years as the director of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, developing the institution to its present position as an outstanding center of oceanographic research and graduate study.
