Description
Mr. Tim Wollaeger earned a B.A. in Economics from Yale, served as an officer in the U.S. Navy for three years, and earned an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He worked at Baxter International and at Hybritech, Inc., San Diego's first biotechnology company, until their acquisition by Eli Lilly & Co. Mr. Wollaeger was a founder and general partner at Biovest where he helped found Pyxis, Vical and Biosite. He also helped found Columbia Hospital Corporation and served as Senior Vice President. In 1994, Mr. Wollaeger founded Kingsbury Capital Partners, a venture capital firm whose investments include Aurora Biosciences, Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Phamis Software, Health Data Sciences, Senomyx, Sub-Q, TKT, Althea and Digirad. He went on to join Sanderling as Managing Director in 2002 and also joined the Chimerix Board in 2002, having co-founded the company and served as Chairman of the Board from 2002 to April 2010. Mr. Wollaeger has over 35 years of experience in biotechnology and medical products fields in both corporate management and venture capital., and was named Entrepreneur of the Year in 1995 and Corporate Director of the Year in 2001.
