Photograph of Gao Ming Lu (b.1949) was taken in his apartment near 798 Art Factory in Beijing while he was on leave from teaching in the U.S. Gao Ming Lu was an important cultural figure in Beijing during the 1980’s as editor of art journals, art critic and curator of modern art exhibitions. Later he emigrated to the U.S., taught in universities here and published and edited several important books on contemporary Chinese art.
