Description
The four photographs Xie Tianxiao and Octopuss document their time in Dali. Xie Tianxiao is a Chinese rock musician who became famous in Beijing during the 1990s with his band Cold Blooded Animals and has since preformed throughout Asia, Europe and North America. Octopuss is an Italian funk band influenced by The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Beatles. They have recorded and performed in Asia, Europe and North America. Their concert was held outside of Old Dali and was attended by young members of a Chinese counter culture who have dropped out of mainstream Chinese society and live in small villages surrounding Dali. The photograph of Xie Tianxiao was taken at the concert.
