Description
YES campaign: Mother and child "Rubencito," widow of an officer that died while on duty. She mourns the death of her husband and talks about suffering and the misfortune of her son growing up without a father. Arturo Carvallo (Representative of Claudio Arrau) restates his disgust of the misuse of Claudio Arrau's words. Augustin Arrau (President of the Arrau Foundation) states that the foundation and Claudio Arrau are against what was said, and that it was abuse and slander. Popular Unity politician Gabriel Valdes is mocked. YES spokesman claims the opposition's arguments are based on lies. YES is the only true democracy, not like the ones promised by Popular Unity and the Christian Democratic Party. Katherine Salosny talks about security and stable foundations that are already established to help young Chileans prosper. Reynaldo Poblete discusses his fear of NO wining and affecting young people's chances of going to college. New technology centers for training and learning. YES supporters expressing admiration for Pinochet with Florcita Motuda opposition Song "No One Can See Him." Tennis player metaphor about the opposition changing the rules of the "game." YES spokesman declares that a NO victory will guarantee chaos and a disruption. Fear of Marxism and communism brought by NO. Havana, Cuba is a place where "happiness" has come. Images of Fidel Castro shaking hands and meeting with NO leaders: Radomiro Tomic, Pascal Allende, Jorge Lavanderos, Rafael Marotto, Luis Corvalan, and Hortensia Bussi. Mockery of NO and Patricio Bañados; comparison to communist leader Volodia Teitelboim. NO campaign: Over the past years, Chile has experienced more violence than ever before with bombings, incarceration, concentration camps, assassinations, disappearances, tortures, and military violence. Carolina Arregui tells Chileans to vote NO to stop living in fear and experience happiness once again. People of Valparaíso, Chile demonstrate their support for NO. Pregnant women receive government aid in the form of food. These pregnant women have to choose between feeding their other children or feeding themselves and their unborn children. Marta Cruz-Coke compares the current country's conditions to past times. She shares her memories of living in a true democracy characterized by respect and peace. She urges Chileans to vote NO to end fear, chaos, and violence. Patricio Bañados explains that Pinochet will rule for another 8 years if YES wins, and free elections will take place if NO wins. Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle discusses voter intimidation and the benefits of voting NO. Patricio Bañados reads a letter by the news channel addressing the Pinochet's practices of press censorship, intimidation tactics, and political obstruction.
