Marriage license issued to Thomas White and Edna G. Mitchell, an African American couple in Los Angeles. L.G. Robinson, a minister, officiated at the marriage ceremony. The "color or race" blanks of the document, filled in by Deputy Clerk R.S. Sparks, are recorded as "colored" for both Thomas White and Edna G. Mitchell
