Description
This dataset contains the satellite radiance observations produced by the Global Data Assimilation System (GDAS) at National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP). The Global Forecast System (GFS)/GDAS was employed to perform data denial experiments for the dropsonde data collected during the 2020 atmospheric river reconnaissance. The experiment named "Ctrl" assimilated all AR Recon dropsonde data and the routine observations and the experiment named "Deny" only assimilated the routine observations. Five types of satellite radiance data used by "Ctrl" and "Deny" from January 24 to March 18 are included in this collection. This dataset is the data analyzed in Zheng et al. 2022 (GRL), with which one should be able to repeat all the figures included in Zheng et al. 2022 (GRL).
