Domènec Martínez García nació en Terrassa en 1949. Domènec relata que sus padres eran inmigrantes andaluces. Destaca la represión que su familia vivió bajo el régimen Franquista. Domènec cuenta que comenzó a trabajar a los catorce años y empezó a tener conciencia política a través de la radio clandestina y las protestas que se llevaban a cabo en su pueblo. Nota que 1966 fue el año en que comenzó a participar en manifestaciones que criticaban a la dictadura y la represión. Domènec recuenta su iniciación en las Juventudes Comunistas en Terrassa. Narra sus actividades políticas y su colaboración con la Confederación Sindical de Comisiones Obreras y el Partit Socialista Unificat de Catalunya (Partido Socialista Unificado de Cataluña, PSUC). Domènec recuerda la ejecución de Luig Antic y el impacto que tuvo sobre sí mismo. Detalla los esfuerzos por organizar el cuarto congreso del PSUC en Madrid en 1976. Domènec comenta que por su participación fue arrestado bajo la ley anti-terrorista. Describe sus experiencias durante su detención y encarcelamiento. Domènec Martínez García was born in Terrassa in 1949. Domènec relates that his parents were Andalusian immigrants. He notes the repression his family experienced under the Franco regime. Domènec recalls starting to work at age fourteen and becoming politically aware through the underground radio and protests that took place in his town. He explains that 1966 was the year in which he began participating in demonstrations that critiqued the dictatorship and the repression. Domènec recounts his initiation into the Juventudes Comunistas (Communist Youth) in Terrassa. He narrates his political activity and collaboration with the Confederación Sindical de Comisiones Obreras (Trade Union Confederation of Labor Commissions) and the Partit Socialista Unificat de Catalunya (Partido Socialista Unificado de Cataluña, PSUC). Domènec remembers the execution of Luig Antic and the impact it had on him. He comments on the attempts to organize the PSUC's fourth conference in Madrid in 1976. Domènec tells of being arrested under the anti-terrorist law for his participation. He describes his experiences during his detainment and incarceration. Domènec speaks about receiving amnesty in June 1976. He details his renewed energy to organize the PSUC's fourth conference, which took place in Barcelona. Domènec discusses his current work with the Memorial Democràtic de la Generalitat de Catalunya (Democratic Memorial of the Generalitat of Catalonia) to recognize the repression enacted during Franco's dictatorship
