Description
The Kofoids receive an abundance of Hawaiian leis upon arriving in Hawaii from friends Mrs. Eunice Puni Rose and Mrs. Hans M. Gittel (Lizzie Kahanu). Kofoid was a central figure in establishing the Marine Biological Station of San Diego which eventually became the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Carrie Prudence Kofoid was once a missionary teacher in the Hawaiian Islands.
