Wang Bing is a Chinese documentary film director who has been described as one of the foremost figures in documentary film making today. He has won numerous international prizes for his work. From 2003 until 2018 he has directed more than a dozen films. Most are several hours in length. His subject matter covers modern China from 1949 until the present. His work is truly remarkable. He divides his time between China and France. The photograph of Wang Bing was taken after the screening of one of his films at Asia Society.
