Description
Ma Jian is an internationally acclaimed Chinese novelist who has been living in exile in England for many years. He is well known in Europe, North America and other regions of the world including Hong Kong and Taiwan but no longer in China because of his social criticism and political activism. This photograph was taken in NYC at Rise Up: Tiananmen's Legacy of Freedom and Democracy which commemorated the 30th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Incident in Beijing on June 4, 1989.
