Description
Advertising brochure seeking bookings for the western Canada leg of a barnstorming tour of the San Francisco Sea Lions Baseball Club. Featured in the brochure is "Tony" (ie: Toni) Lyle Stone, who became first woman to play professional baseball full-time for the Indianapolis Clowns (1953) in the previously all-male Negro leagues. This also made her the first woman to play as a regular on an American big-league professional baseball team. Also featured is Sammy Workman, a quadruple amputee who put on exhibitions of his hitting, batting, catching, and base sliding skills at the games. Includes action photographs of several of the other players as well
