Description
This set of data has been collected by Centro para la Biodiversidad Marina y la Conservación A.C., as part of the Gulf of California Marine Program's artisanal fisheries monitoring program. The objective is to work with communities to understand the health status of commercially important fishery resources and their relationship to the habitat that sustains them. Since 2009, fishermen from different communities have helped us collect data related to fishing activity. This data is used by a multidisciplinary team of researchers in a program that seeks to contribute to the region's fisheries management. Data from the following fishing communities is included: San Felipe in Baja California (2012/02 - 2017/05); El Golfo de Santa Clara in Sonora (2009/03-2018/04); El Zanjón, Baja California (2010 and 2015); Punta Abreojos (2009/06-2022/12); Puerto Adolfo López Mateos (2016/06-2022/06); Puerto San Carlos (2014/09-2021/10); Isla Margarita (2012/10-2020/02); Bahía La Ventana (2016/06-2020/12); El Sargento (2020/12-2022/06); Isla La Partida (2011/08-2022/06) and San Basilio (2020/02 - 2022/06) in Baja California Sur.
