Description
Meng Lang was a well known Chinese poet and cultural activist who promoted Chinese dissident writers. He was born in Shanghai, lived in Beijing during much of the 1980s, spent many years in the U.S. and then moved to Hong Kong with his wife. The photograph of Meng Lang was taken at a cultural event - "China - ism" - in NYC organized by the U.S. based Russian artist Anton Kandinsky who was influenced by the Chinese artists Yue Minjun and Ai Weiwei during one period of his life.
